Emirates & Batik Air Enters Codeshare Agreement

Emirates, one of two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, and Batik Air, an Indonesian scheduled airline founded in 2012, have recently activated their Codeshare partnership. This agreement grants the customers of Emirates access to 25 Indonesian points with only one ticket and baggage policy, thus their expanding choice and connectivity options.

Under this newly activated agreement, Emirates has placed its code on 8 routes operated by Batik Air via Jakarta to - Balikpapan (BPN), Denpasar (DPS), Medan (KNO), Manado (MDC), Padang (PDG), Surakarta (SOC), Surabaya (SUB) and Makassar (UPG). Furthermore, due to an interline agreement, 17 additional domestic Indonesian points via Jakarta and Denpasar, to cities such as Praya (LOP), Semarang (SRG), Sorong (SOQ), and more can also be easily accessed by customers of Emirates.

It has been more than 30 years since the commencement of Emirates’ first flight to Jakarta back in 1992, and they are still serving Indonesia. By doing so, it has continuously been contributing to the recovery and growth of the travel and trade sectors of Indonesia. Their services to the industry include carrying international tourists and business travellers, both inbound and outbound, as well as transporting essential air cargo to and from global markets.

During the First quarter of this year, Emirates launched its Codeshare agreement with Garuda, Indonesia’s national carrier. Beyond Jakarta and Bali, the agreement allowed the customers of the airline to access eight domestic points in Indonesia.

At the moment Emirates has active Codeshare cooperation agreements in place with 26 airline partners, 110 interline partners and two rail companies from all over the world. Actual global connectivity to over 130 destinations across 6 continents is offered to the customers of this UAE flag carrier.

If interested, you can visit their official website to book the tickets, contact an Online Travel Agencies (OTA) or through travel agents, to travel to those Indonesian destinations immediately.
