Etihad Airways Extends Abu Dhabi-Zanzibar Flights to January 2023

Etihad Airways, the second flag carrier airline of the United Arab Emirates, has made announcements to extend its flights between Abu Dhabi and Zanzibar to 14 January 2023.

Currently, the service is operated three times a week, and it will continue with this schedule until 26 November 2022. However, for the end of year holidays, a fourth weekly flight will be introduced.

These weekly scheduled flights will be operated on modern Airbus A320 aircraft. This will also provide the travellers with a wider range of travel options throughout the week to the popular Indian Ocean archipelago.

Martin Drew, Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Cargo, said: “Zanzibar is an incredible destination and Etihad looks forward to welcoming more travellers on their way to experience the natural splendour of its islands.

He further added, “Our seasonal Zanzibar flights have proven extremely popular with guests from the UAE and across Europe, especially Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy, and Etihad is on track to pass the 10,000-passenger milestone over the next few weeks.”

On 17 June this year, Etihad’s seasonal Zanzibar service was launched, which was initially scheduled to run until 18 September. However, now the service will be operated throughout the rest of 2022 until 14th January 2023.
