Jet2 Raises Stansted Summer Capacity by 10%
The Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks schedule from Stansted now includes the city break locations of Athens and Rome.
Up until November 26 there will be twice-weekly flights to Athens, and up until November 27 there will be four weekly trips to Rome.
The additions bring the total number of locations the airline is offering for sale from Stansted for this summer to 42.
In order to accommodate the 10% increase in capacity over last summer to more than 2.1 million seats with more than 225 flights per week, an additional aeroplane has been stationed at the airport.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We are delighted to see our first flights from Stansted to Athens and Rome take off today.
“Feedback from customers and independent travel agents in the south east has been telling us that flights and holidays to Greece and Italy are very much in demand for summer 2023, and we know that Athens and Rome are destinations that customers in the region want to get to.
“Since putting services on sale to these two destinations from London Stansted airport, local customers and independent travel agents have been booking getaways to the city break hotspots in their numbers.
“With 42 sun and city destinations on sale this summer from the base, we pleased to be offering an unrivalled flying programme for summer 2023.”
