France Removes All Covid Entry Requirements

France has lifted all Covid entrance restrictions for travellers, regardless of vaccination status.

All new entrants to France are no longer required to present proof of immunisation, have a negative Covid test, or complete any Covid-related paperwork as of today (August 1).

Fully jabbed newcomers had to provide confirmation of vaccination before the regulation change, including proof of having got a booster shot if more than nine months had gone since their second dosage.

All entrants were required to produce a sworn declaration attesting to their immunity, and travellers who had not had vaccinations had to provide evidence of a negative PCR or antigen test.

All of those restrictions, however, have since been lifted, making it simpler for tourists to visit France.

In addition, France has dropped the requirement for people to wear face masks in health establishments, although they are still recommended.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has been updated to reflect the changes.

It states: “From August 1, 2022, all Covid travel restrictions for travellers to France have been lifted. This also applies to travel between metropolitan France and each of the French overseas territories.

“Face masks are no longer mandatory in health establishments, but remain strongly recommended.”
