British Airways Boosts London-Grenada Flights

British Airways has decided to increase the number of weekly London-Grenada flights from 30 October 2022.

The airline has made the conclusion to boost the connectivity between the destinations, London Gatwick and Grenada, by operating an additional weekly flight every Sunday from 30 October to offer flexibility to choose from extra options to UK travellers.

This additional London-Grenada weekly flight brings the total number of flights between the two destinations to three times per week.

At the moment British Airways operates two flights to Grenada, one on Wednesdays and the other on Saturdays, via St Lucia. However, the new flight will be operated on Sundays via the Caribbean island, Antigua.

Petra Roach, the CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority has made a statement regarding this commitment, “We want to thank British Airways for their confidence in Grenada as a destination, and for providing our diaspora and UK visitors with more flexibility and convenience.  In the first half of 2023, we will see the opening of Six Senses, a 100 room luxury resort with six villas, and The Beach House, sister hotel to Silversands, with 31 rooms.”

She added to the statement by saying, “From stunning waterfalls, beautiful beaches, world-famous dive sites and mouth watering cuisine; the Spice Isle offers a truly unforgettable experience all year round with something on offer for every type of traveller.”

Through this revelation, Roach expressed how grateful the tourism sector of the country feels for this resolution as she believes that it will help in inviting more tourist to the exotic hilly Caribbean island.

Aside from the British Airways, Virgin Atlantic also operates two weekly flights to Grenada from London Heathrow. Currently, these flights are operated via Barbados on Tuesdays and Saturdays, which will carry on until 29 October 2022. Then from 1 November 2022, they will be shifted to Tuesdays and Fridays.
